Palen Family

Wilma Palen Lamar
I found these family photos while doing a genealogy study of my family (Palen) who resided in Curtis Bay for quite some time. The first one is of the Curtis Bay Cardinals football team. My father Bill Palen was on the team and Earl Butler his cousin was the coach. What a winning record they had. I'm not sure what the age group was but my father Bill was born in 1914.

This is a copy of my Grandfathers business card. Note the address of Cedar (now Ceddox) Street The building that faced Ceddox St was Palen's Cafe and the side on Pennington Ave was the South Baltimore Hotel. I still have the cash register that is engraved across the front South Baltimore Hotel.

This is my grandfather William R. Palen standing in front of Palen's Cafe. If you look close you will see Palen's Cafe on the window. It was located at the Cedar (now Ceddox)St and Curtis Ave.

This was my great grandmother's Lucy Jackson's home. Jackson's Boarding House. You might be interested to
know that the horse and buggy are parked on what is now Pennington Avenue. When her home was sold it was sold to Henry Rosso who ran a music studio there until it was torn down.

This is my Uncle Gilbert Palen who played baseball for the Curtis Bay Coast Guard I don't know who the other man is or where the photo was taken.
